NICKY MAGGIO was born and raised in Easton, Massachusetts. He received his BFA in Theatre Performance at Emerson College where he worked on more than twenty-five productions in four years. After graduating Summa Cum Laude, Mr. Maggio moved to New York City to pursue a career as a freelance director and acting coach.
Nicky is a graduate of the Michael Chekhov Actors Studio of Boston where he studied under master teacher Scott Fielding. At the age of twenty-one, Nicky was accepted into the Actors Center Teacher Development Program and is currently the youngest graduate of the program by thirteen years. He is a member of the esteemed National Alliance of Acting Teachers under Michael J. Miller and trained under master teachers Ron Van Lieu, Fay Simpson, Slava Dolgachev and Jane Nikols.
Nicky attended The New School, College of Performing Arts Graduate Program receiving his MFA in Directing. While attending NSD, he directed new works that range in themes of sexuality, gender, sizeism, race, and immigration.
Nicky has directed and assisted on productions at Boston’s Lyric Stage Company, Emerson Stage/Arts Emerson, LIC’s Secret Theatre, Teatro LATEA, Italian Cultural Center, The Lark, The Wilma Theater, and the Public Theatre.
Nicky is a new play director currently collaborating with up-and-coming playwrights such as Nikhil Mahapatra, Karina Billini, and Erica Mann.
